How long have you been with Goji? What is your role on your team?

I joined Goji in April 2022 as a Senior Project Manager (PM) within the Enterprise Operations Team. As a PM, I get to work with all the business units within Goji, ranging from sales and marketing, finance, product and engineering.

What initially interested you about Goji? What do you enjoy about working here?

I first discovered Goji through a recruiter and was immediately impressed by the amazing company culture, dynamic teams and strong leadership – I could not wait to have my first interview with the team.

Within the past few months, everything I had learnt about the company has lived up to expectations. The people at Goji are fabulous.

Where did you work prior to joining Goji? How has this shaped your role here?

Having worked for many years within the customer flow management solution environment, I gained extensive knowledge in understanding the customer journey. This equipped me with the skillset to optimise on business processes and ensure the customer has a cutting-edge experience.

Prior to Goji, I most recently had the opportunity to work within the health industry, delivering a Discovery Project to best support the transformation and migration of online and offline strategies in customer services and IT technology platforms.

The customer experience and journey has always been at the forefront of my responsibilities – from IT distribution, Product, Programme and Project Management, and Enterprise Procurement for a large global services business.

Give us the inside scoop – what are some of the unique aspects of working at Goji?

The people. People with passion can make the impossible happen! The culture at Goji is amazing. From the moment I joined, everyone has been so welcoming and helpful. The company is dynamic and allows the individual to grow and evolve. Everyone has such a positive attitude and is full of energy. It’s addictive!

What was your dream job as a child? Tell us a bit about your journey to where you are today.

I always felt I would enter into the medical field. I was a first aider at the local ice rink for many years, both for the public, as well the ice hockey teams, travelling with the local teams to tournaments.

While my medical career never materialised, I found myself working for an IT components distribution company after college. I worked in Procurement Management roles for many years, as well as a Product / Brand owner and in general management. Looking back, I was always involved within Project and Programme Management – a role which has allowed me to work with actual project delivery, resource capacity planning, inter-project dependency management and many other elements. No two projects are ever the same, enabling me to constantly learn. My biggest reflection is that continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection.

What would you do if you had unlimited free time?

I love exploring. Growing up in South Africa, we did not travel out of the country much. Once I started working, I managed to travel to a few countries, some for leisure and others for business.

I would absolutely spend my unlimited free time country hopping, enjoying all the diverse cultures, and meeting new people with my family.

Any fun projects on the horizon? What are you and your team up to next?

We are in the process of integrating the Goji software platform for a key customer to digitise their investor journey. There are many new exciting features being released following this, which will enhance the platform even further by catering to the customer experience and assisting with internal efficiencies. There is a lot of excitement in the company, with Goji forming trusting relationships with our customers and delivering key services.
